Pearl S. Buck InternationalLife and Legacy Virtual Tour and 3D Artifacts
Visit ProjectPearl S. Buck was a Pulitzer and Nobel prize-winning author and celebrated civil rights activist. At the Pearl S. Buck International Symposium, Night Kitchen unveiled an all-new virtual tour experience that welcomes visitors worldwide to learn about her life and historic fight for equality.

Tours of Pearl's historic home and personal collection of artifacts are popular locally, but largely inaccessible to her following across the United States and Asia. The Life and Legacy Historic House Virtual Tour allows visitors to explore Pearl's home through 360-degree photography and interact with 3D models of her belongings. Night Kitchen digitized six key artifacts including the Nobel Prize in Literature, her collection of antique Chinese sculptures and clothing, and newly-discovered objects only recently added to the archive.

Featuring over 150 hotspots that present archival videos, photographs, 3D models, soundscapes and more, this tour paints an intimate picture of her life as an author, mother, and renowned philanthropist. It builds upon existing tours to provide a closer look at artifacts that would otherwise be kept within a display case. The virtual tour honors Pearl's legacy by encouraging engagement from visitors around the world and highlighting the ongoing global efforts of Pearl S. Buck International's philanthropic programs.
